Produced at Machure Estate in Kiambu County, Kenya, this coffee is harvested between 1400 and 1600 metres above sea level.
Machure Estate lies in the Thika district and spans approximately 126 hectares, with optimal conditions for cultivating top-quality coffee. Predominantly, 95% of the coffee planted consists of SL28 and SL 34 varieties. Established in 1950, the estate has been under TFMK management since 1987.
An eco-friendly initiative on the estate involves repurposing pulp into fertiliser. It is blended with cow manure and distributed across the farm for sustainable agricultural practices.
Flowering occurs from March to April, with harvest taking place between October and December. The region experiences an average rainfall of 1223 mm and an average temperature of 20.5°C.
During harvest, the farm conducts selective picking. After pulping, the parchment undergoes gravity sorting before being placed on drying tables. As it dries on raised beds, defective beans are identified and separated. Following drying, the parchment is stored in the warehouse before being transported to the mill.
