Cooperative Information

The Thiriku FCS has only one factory called Thiriku. It was registered in the year
2000, after it split from a bigger union. The factory is located in the heart of
Nyeri county, just at the foot of the Aberdares mountain range.
Farmers grow SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties at 1,900 masl in rich volcanic soils. Ripe cherries are hand-picked, pulped, fermented, and slow-dried on over 130 raised beds using a single, water-efficient wet mill.
